It is just around the corner folks!  any ideas on how to get the pieces of group 1 part a swapped with group 1 part b would be greatly appreciated!  since there are so many possibilities, lets start simple;  do we all want to meet?  can we all meet?
of course it would be ideal for us all to agree on a date, and a middle ground on the map, but would this be a complete logistical nightmare?!

alright, i'll start with my proposal...
the exchange will be the first week of february.  how about meeting up on the 2nd or 3rd (sat. or sun.) at a halfway point.  it looks like Gainesville would be a good middle ground for everyone... Yes?  No?
we could all meet up at a restaurant or something.  meet, greet, show pics, whatever.  swap pieces in the parking lot.
thats what i think...
but if we want to do this we should plan in advance so everyone can make it.

The offer of meeting up at my place in Jacksonville still stands if you want.

Wahooo! party!

And the offer to meet at my shop in Ocala still stands too. It's only about 35-40 miles south of G-ville.

It'll be great to finally meet everyone.

FWIW, I've contacted the local newspaper. The Ocala Star Banner. And they'd love to come out and photograph and do a story on the project. Maybe the exchange would be a perfect opportunity. They wanted to come out right away but I told them that I'd let them know if a "meeting" of all the group participants and Sculptures happened. Because it would make for a better story.

food for thought. .......

I like this plan.  Sweet, indeed.
Anyone else?  I really don't want Bill and I to make the decision alone!

Hey Mike,
Smiley  check this out. I went ahead and added some support to Mel's seed. About three of those lil brass rods "disconnected" from one side......so I added some decorative support. Smiley

this may take a lil to load........ oh well.....just a test.

OK.  Since NO ONE, other than Bill, has had anything to add lets do this:
We will take Bill up on his offer.  Ocala is a reasonable distance for everyone involved.  If for some reason you ABSOLUTELY cannot come, be sure to give your peice to another attending member of our group so that the swap between parts A and B will be complete and seamless, and we can all continue working!  We don't have to communicate constantly.  It would be nice to meet everyone, exchange thoughts and ideas on the project at hand, and other future and otherwise unrelated projects!
Meeting time: 1pm, Sunday, February 10th.
Meeting place: contact Bill for directions.
Let's make this happen!

I would like to meet our group but don't have a free day now.  Have not yet made my addition to sculpture #4 (Lance's seed).
Plan to have it done this week and will see if someone else can take it to Ocala for me.  I have updated photos of my additions to the Gallery.

We have been afforded the extra time to plan our meeting.  How much more time do you need Jesse, Ken?  Lance, Greg, when is a good time to meet for you?  Lets take is easy, and remember the only thing that matters is producing QUALITY sculpture!  forget a deadline!  lets do it right!  Smiley
We'll keep you posted, Bill, sorry for the run-around!

I agree, Mel. I'll take this sunday OFF the calendar. It would be helpful if I can have as much lead time as possible so that I can get the PRESS out here.
