I must start by confessing that I am not a web designer, I am a sculptor. None the less, I have tried to create a site that will be effective for getting information to people who need it, and create a community environment for everyone.

It has been a while since I developed a website from scratch, and things have changed immensely since then. The more I delve into new web related technological and software advances, the more I realize what the potential for this site could be. Alas, for I cannot possibly devote as much time as it would take to completely rewrite the site again, for the third time.
I have learned a lot, and relearned even more over the past two weeks while putting this thing together, and I am committed to making it the best it can be for our needs.

The heart of the community here will be the forum and the gallery. The site is running Gallery2 version 2.2.1 with the X_treme theme template to which I have added/modified a few styles and code aspects to get it to fit the site layout.
Info and FAQs for using Gallery2 can be found at: http://gallery.menalto.com/
I will add another post with specific info on the basic gallery functions as they pertain to participants.

The Forum is SMF (Simple Machines Forum) version 1.1.2 and is pretty self explanatory. once you have registered as a participant, you should browse all the customization options for your profile, layout, avatars, etc. and set things up so they work best for you.
Additional info on SMF can be found at http://www.simplemachines.org/

The secret of life is to have a task, something you devote your entire life to, something you bring everything to, every minute of the day for the rest of your life. And the most important thing is, it must be something you cannot possibly do. "
