For those of you who are computer-minded, I have another means of communication to offer you along the lines of the "conference call" that Group 1 held to get a group conversation going.

I run a voice over IP server (kinda like Skype, only easier and less obnoxious) on my computer You are all welcome to log on and talk to each other (you need a microphone).

To access the server you must have the client software installed, it it called "teamspeak" its a small easy to use program available for free from THIS LINK http://www.goteamspeak.com

You have to log onto the server by putting the following address in the address box (in the teamspeak software)

vanguard.kicks-ass.org

leave the user name blank, but create a "nickname"

password is: asy

Once you log on you should go to the "settings" menu and select "sound input/output settings" and change the settings from"voice activation" to "push to talk" you will be able to choose a key on your keyboard that you have to press to talk. Doing this eliminates a lot of feedback, and background noise.

Enjoy.

Michael,
I downloaded the software and got to try it out with Bruce Fink. It works.........don't really know exactly how to work it.......but it works LOL. We were playing with it and "stumbled" into the separate "room" that you'd set up. Guess it was a separate "channel" now that I think about it. Looks like it gives you the options to set up different channels/rooms. THIS has some great potential, hope others will take advantage of it. Thanks for coming up with all these different options to STAY in TOUCH. You Da Man!!!!!
Bruce and I were video chatting and that is the WAY to go. We are both on iMac's and using iChat, fwiw.

This program works really well, but it is not video chat either.

I have used this for several years to communicate with my friends and family.

It was created to use for communicating while playing inline games, thus the names Teamspeak. I also use it for this purpose.

It's not very complicated, but it helps the sound quality a lot if you choose the highest bandwidth codec when you create a new channel.

There are other similar programs out there, like "ventrilo" but I haven't tried them in a long time.

anyway, I hope others will use this means of communication, its free, easy, and you can have many people in on the conversation.
